Former Dean of Sturm College of Law Is Honored

听has been awarded the 2016 Educating Tomorrow鈥檚 Lawyers Award. Katz served as dean of the听听from 2009 to 2016 and currently is a professor in the college teaching constitutional law, and employment and labor law.
罢丑别听听(ETL) initiative was started by the 91桃色-based听听(IAALS). This award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to innovation in legal education. Katz is only the second recipient of this award.
鈥淢arty has vision, he has courage and innovation, he is decisive and humble, and he instills in people the notion that we can do this,鈥 says听, executive director of IAALS. 鈥淗e is absolutely the personification of everything the award stands for.鈥
Katz is a founding board member of ETL, a national consortium of law schools that are leading efforts to improve the legal education. The award was presented during the fifth annual Educating Tomorrow鈥檚 Lawyers conference in Denver.
鈥淚 am truly honored by this award, as IAALS and ETL represent the best of our profession,鈥 says Katz. 鈥淚t is hard to imagine a group of people that accomplish more or who are more fun to work with. I feel lucky to be a part of this movement at this time, and to be part of this organization.鈥
